Omicron Theta Omega wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Month with Yoga At The Core in partnership with Move by BJC! Mental health resources were provided by Ms. Mac Consulting, SLU Psychological Services Center, The Collective and Healing Spaces Psychological Services. Yoga promotes mindfulness, enhances emotional regulation, and helps improves your overall mood.
To celebrate 41 years of sisterhood and service to all mankind, the ladies of Omicron Theta Omega traded our cookout plans for something greater—volunteering in tornado relief efforts. The road to recovery will be long, and there’s still more work to do . If you’re able to help, please send bottled water to Action STL. There’s no better way to honor our legacy than through service!
Omicron Theta Omega hosted our 9th annual Financial Empowerment Workshop! Estate planning, family communication and wealth transfer learning sessions were held by Tony Westbrooks of Formula Law, Dr. Jameca Woody Cooper and US Bank.
Omicron Theta Omega and the Tillman Elementary School-Kirkwood School District “Pepper Steppers” enjoyed an afternoon of tree planting to enhance our environment!
Omicron Theta Omega was present and ready to serve at the 91st Central Regional Conference hosted in St. Louis, MO. The Jennings High School Warrior Band led by our very own, Brittney Dickson welcomed sisters from all over the region with a spectacular performance at the Welcome Reception. Omicron Theta Omega was also recognized as a platinum level chapter for our contribution to educational scholarships and won the runner up award for Most Captivating Social Media Presence in the Large Chapter category. Omicron Theta Omega closed out the 91st Central Regional Conference leading the Spiritual Sendoff. It was “laced with grace and filled with praise” with gospel singer Jekalyn Carr!
Omicron Theta Omega enjoyed a seasoned soror meet and greet to bond with sisters who’ve newly reactivated/transferred! We love to strengthen our sisterhood!
Omicron Theta Omega enjoyed a day at the Missouri State Capitol to meet with state legislators, strategize, and mobilize action to drive meaningful change.
Omicron Theta Omega observed Founders’ Day in fellowship with all St. Louis metropolitan area chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Congratulations to our sisters celebrating golden and silver milestone anniversaries (Margaret Ann Berry, Hazel Mallory, Inez Hughes, Kathy Williams and Rita Mosley), our Soror of the Year (Nikki Goodwin) and Reactivated Soror of the Year (Shawnte Hitchens)!
The Metropolitan St. Louis chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc along with St. Louis County Executive, Dr. Sam Page and Councilwoman Shalonda Webb joined together to volunteer and honor Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy of service and community empowerment. 107 volunteers across 3 sites achieved 214 volunteer hours total, packed 115 CHIPP bags, and donated $700 to Girls Inc. Other service projects included collecting used electronics in partnership with ALIVE Inc for those impacted by domestic abuse, a line dancing fundraiser and a clean up project at St. Ann Catholic Church & School.
Omicron Theta Omega hosted the 2024 End of the Year Community Impact Awards Reception where we honored our dedicated community partners and chapter leaders. Our community honorees included Community Women Against Hardship, Girls' Inc, St. Louis Crisis Nursery and West Side Missionary Baptist Church. Our Impact Award recipients were Rev. Traci Blackmon, Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, Dr. Dorothy Fiddmont, Portia Britt, Alyssa Allen-Gibson, Eleanor Higgins, Dr. Twinette Johnson and Reyna Spencer.
